KS1 Teaching Assistant (Full Time)

Contract: Short-Term (potentially permanent)

Institution: EYFS and KS1 

Pay: £85-£92  per day 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EYFS and KS1 Learning Support Assistant for a well regarding school in Totton. The school is a medium sized primary school on the border of the picturesque New Forest. Utilising the outdoors for education, exploration and to engage curiosity is a key part of the schools philosophy for KS1 and EYFS children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group work support
  • Assist small groups of students in accessing lessons and structured activities.
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting EYFS and KS1 children in their first steps of education
  • Strong understanding of trauma, SEMH and associated learning/behavioural needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and confidentiality practices.
  • Enhanced DBS check (support available if required).
