Salary: £34,000–£56,000+

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 6 Teacher looking to make a real difference during one of the most important stages of a child’s primary education? Supply Desk is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive school in Watford seeking an inspiring teacher to join their dedicated team.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and challenging lessons that prepare pupils for their transition to secondary school. You will support pupils in achieving their academic potential while also developing their confidence, independence, resilience, and wider personal skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or Early Career Teacher (ECT) who is passionate about helping pupils thrive and wants to become part of a friendly, ambitious, and supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum.
  • Prepare and support pupils for their end-of-Key-Stage assessments and SATs.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing targeted support and constructive feedback where required.
  • Develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy, reasoning, critical thinking, and independent learning skills.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
  • Support pupils in developing the confidence, maturity, and independence needed for a successful transition to secondary school.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.

Requirements

  • A degree alongside Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6, is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and planning skills.
  • A genuine passion for primary education and helping children achieve their full potential.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
