About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated RE Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic RE Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you’ll inspire pupils to develop their knowledge, critical thinking, and understanding of religion, beliefs, and ethical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive RE lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
  • Teach pupils across a range of religious, philosophical, ethical, and cultural topics.
  • Develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of different religions, beliefs, values, and worldviews.
  • Encourage pupils to think critically, ask questions, and engage respectfully with different perspectives.
  • Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages pupils to participate, learn, and achieve.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils’ progress, using assessment data to inform planning and provide targeted support.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement within the classroom.
  • Differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to planning, assessment, school activities, and wider school events where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of Religious Education.
  • Experience teaching RE within a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for inspiring pupils and encouraging respectful discussion and critical thinking.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupils of all abilities.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
