About the Role
Are you a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teacher of Food looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a committed Teacher of Food to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that develop students’ knowledge, practical skills, and confidence. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Food Technology who wants to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Encourage students to develop positive attitudes towards learning and take pride in their practical work.
- Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and practical development.
- Maintain accurate records of assessment, progress, attendance, and behaviour in line with school procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, SENCOs, and the wider school team to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development, enrichment activities, and wider school initiatives where required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organised, and well-equipped food technology environment.
- Support students with practical assessments, coursework, examinations, and other relevant activities where required.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues regarding student progress and any relevant concerns.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, food hygiene, and school policies are followed at all times.
Requirements
- The ability to support students across a range of abilities and adapt teaching approaches where appropriate.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prepare and manage practical lessons effectively.
- A genuine passion for Food Technology and supporting students’ learning and development.
- The ability to build positive and respectful relationships with students.
- A proactive, flexible, and creative approach to teaching.
- A commitment to inclusion and ensuring all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
