HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT
Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £90–£120 per day

As an HLTA, you will support teaching and learning across the school, delivering pre-planned lessons and working closely with teaching staff.
Key responsibilities
Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS1 and KS2
Provide small group and 1:1 support
Cover classes in the absence of teachers
Support lesson planning and delivery
Assist with assessment and progress tracking
Maintain classroom structure and behaviour
The classroom environment
Structured and consistent
Clear expectations for pupils
Behaviour is well managed
Learning continues smoothly
Skills and experience
HLTA status or Level 3 equivalent
Strong classroom experience
Confidence leading a class
Organisation and communication skills
What success looks like
Lessons run effectively in teacher absence
Pupils stay engaged
Classroom routines remain consistent
HLTA qualification or strong TA experience required
